Cloud Operations on AWS
This 3-day course was formerly known as Systems Operations on AWS and takes a look at the tools and services available to run operations on AWS.
Suggested prerequisites: AWS Technical Essentials or equivalent practical knowledge. Basic IT operations and networking.
The Cloud Operations on AWS course is designed for systems operators and anyone involved in cloud operations. It focuses on managing and operating automated and repeatable deployments of networks and systems on AWS. Participants will learn about various cloud operations tasks, including installation, configuration, automation, monitoring, security, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AWS services.
The course lasts three days and includes presentations, hands-on labs, demonstrations, and group discussions. By the end of the course, attendees will be able to identify AWS services that support Operational Excellence, manage access to AWS resources using AWS accounts and IAM (Identity and Access Management), and maintain an inventory of AWS resources with tools like AWS Systems Manager and AWS Config. They will also learn to develop deployment strategies using metadata tags and Amazon Machine Images (AMIs), automate resource deployment with AWS CloudFormation and AWS Service Catalog, and manage resources through CloudOps lifecycle processes. Additionally, participants will configure a highly available cloud environment using services like Amazon Route 53 and Elastic Load Balancing, set up AWS Auto Scaling, and monitor their cloud environment with Amazon CloudWatch.
The course is intended for system administrators and IT professionals looking to enhance their cloud operations skills. It is recommended that attendees have completed the AWS Technical Essentials course, possess a background in software development or systems administration, and have basic knowledge of networking protocols.
